an evening of coffee and cocktails with origin coffee

Join us in Shoreditch this Thursday the 13th April for an evening of coffee and cocktails with Origin Coffee in support of Project Waterfall. This week Chase and Origin will be joining forces to raise money for this remarkable charity, for more information or for detail on how to attend the event keep reading.

The evening will consist of an evening of coffee cocktail tutorials and tastings with Paul Ross, the UK Coffee In Good Spirits Champion, Joshua Tarlo Origin’s Head of Coffee and our own Chris Watson.

The event will kick off with introductions from Paul Ross. Paul's routine in UKCIGs focused on food nostalgia; one of the delicious cocktails that saw him reign supreme was a representation of Lemon, Orange & Lavender Cake, evoking the nostalgia of his Grandma’s baking. He will be teaching you how to make similar cocktails throughout the evening!

Paul will be chatting about coffee cocktails and the competition ahead of the World championships in June. Joshua Tarlo, Origin’s Head of Coffee will then be chatting about sourcing the incredible coffee that Paul will be using at the Worlds, including tastings. But, of course, coffee is only a part of the story; finally our own Chris will be joining the team to chat about the provenance of our Chase spirits. All of these open discussions will be accompanied by tastings, followed by further cocktails at the end of the tutorials.

The event is being held as part of UK Coffee Week and is in support of The Allegra Foundation, a registered charity based in London, was founded in 2011 by Allegra Group CEO Jeffrey Young. With strong roots in the coffee industry, the Allegra Foundation established Project Waterfall to positively impact the lives of people in coffee growing communities by increasing access to clean drinking water and sanitation.

Since 2011, Project Waterfall has raised over £600,000 and delivered clean drinking water to over 24,000 people in Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nicaragua and Uganda. Their largest fundraising initiatives include UK Coffee Week, London Coffee Festival, Amsterdam Coffee Festival, New York Coffee Festival, The Coffee Music Project, The Coffee Art Project, and our partnerships with brands across the coffee industry.

Everyone is welcome to this event so if you're interested in learning more about Origin coffee or our spirits or just want to support a good cause please just turn up!
