we're recruiting - a head chef 

The Verzon House Hotel Position: Head Chef Salary & Benefits: On application  Start date: ASAP We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to run the kitchen at our hotel, The Verzon House in Ledbury. You will run and manage a busy kitchen producing innovative menus and dishes. The Verzon House Hotel is a 'restaurant with rooms' so it is incredibly important that our food is of the very best quality. We are looking for someone who can really make our food stand out with their creativity and technical skill. The Verzon House Hotel is owned and managed by William and Kate Chase of Chase Distillery. The hotel and distillery work together closely to ensure that all of their guests experience the fantastic gastronomy that Herefordshire has to offer, from the spirits to locally sourced and produced food.

Responsibilities - Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities

- Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings

- Work with the distillery to produce food and spirit pairing menus

- Create innovative dishes with the spirits for marketing purposes

- Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer

- Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages

- Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff

Requirements

- Proven experience as head chef

- Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management

- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress

- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
