We were delighted to welcome our wonderful South Korean distributors and some of the countries finest bartenders and bottle shop owners to our farm and distillery for a tour last week.
From the moment they arrived at our country hotel, Verzon House we knew we were going to get along famously, for there is one thing we absolutely had in common – our love of cocktails!
Dinner, drinks and lots of laughter commenced, before calling it a night in readiness for the tour the next day.
The following morning, we all piled into our Land Rover Defender 110, Chase Farm bound for a distillery tour. James Chase was there to meet and greet, before kitting everyone out in Dubarry boots and setting off for the potatoes fields and apple orchards. The first phase in our Single-Estate story.
We then followed the journey of the potato from field to bottle, having a sneak peak behind the scenes to see them being washed, peeled, mashed (even having a taste of the mash!), fermented, distilled, bottled and finished, right here on the farm.
Naturally no tour would be complete without a tasting, and of course a round of GB Gin and tonics to finish off.
We couldn’t have had a more brilliant time, we smiled so much that our cheeks hurt by the end of the day! We hope to see our South Korean friends again soon, whether it’s on our turf or theirs.
