Top of the Crops: The Ultimate Smoky Bloody Mary
The perfect bloody mary is a hotly debated topic with endless variations and additions to suit personal taste. We believe that our Oak Smoked Vodka, creates an irresistible twist on this classic brunch cocktail and to help you do just that, we’ve noted down our top tips and favourite recipe below!
Before you get started, we have a few tips to help you along. Firstly, ensuring you select a good quality tomato juice is vital. You are looking for a satisfyingly thick juice with no additives and a brick red colouring. We recommend Turner Hardy – their juices are freshly pressed from tomatoes grown on their Isle of Wight farm with a choice of three ranging in different levels of seasoning so you can add your own or use their delicious ready mixed bottles. Secondly, we recommend a technique called ‘rolling’ to mix the drink which involves simply popping the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with a little cubed ice and gently moving the liquid around to combine. This is to ensure the tomato juice remains a lovely thick consistency and doesn’t get too diluted. Lastly, it’s very important to note that you can always add but not take away, so do be careful when adding the spices and taste as you go along.
