Country Tails

A sunny weekend away at Limewood cannot be beaten. Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, it’s an idyll of relaxation, fantastic food, delicious drink and surroundings that make you dissolve into your day and lose all concept of time.

We’ve been proud friends of The Pig for a couple of years now, each with a shared passion to hero our hand-grown-goodies, harvesting them to your glass / plate. Limewood is The Pig’s older, sexier and better behaved sister. As soon as we drove up the drive, luxurious Limewood swallowed us up and delivered us gently on cloud 9, where we remained for the weekend.

The spa is fantastic and has everything you’d ever need, including glass walls – letting you enjoy views of the New Forest as you purr in the hydrotherapy pool.

Dinner was delicious. Angela Hartnett & Luke Holder have successfully fused Britishness with Italian to create a fun, fresh & playful menu. The cheeseboard is impressive, the pasta to die for and the service, charming.

On Sunday night we snuck off to The Pig, just a 15 minute car journey through the forest. We soaked up the atmosphere of ‘Smoked & Uncut Unplugged’, enjoying Chase cocktails as the sun set, Sunday bliss!

If you’re looking for that perfect escape, then let Limewood take care of that for you. You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and they make a mean dirty Chase martini – cheers!
