Country Tails

October 27, 2017

This month we have launched our Limited Edition Sloe and Mulberry Gin and continuing our campaign to find sloes and the ultimate ‘forgotten fruit’- the mulberry.

Our Chase sloe gin is Britain’s first and only farm to bottle sloe gin. Wild hedgerow sloe berries from Herefordshire and hard to find mulberries are gently macerated in our award winning Chase GB Gin and then aged in Rhone Valley red wine casks.

Mulberry trees, once commonplace in Britain have long since fallen out of favour due to their slow growing nature, low yields and messy, deep purple staining berries. Consequently, the cultivation of mulberry trees in the UK has diminished, prompting Chase Distillery founder William Chase, to create a campaign to find and further champion this tree, along with the British favourite, the sloe- that are so steeped in history and meaning.

If you have a mulberry tree or know anyone who does, we would love to hear from you!
