Country Tails

February 5, 2016

Gone almost as soon as they arrive, the Seville orange season runs from the end of December through to mid February. Luckily these knobbly-skinned, bitter marvels can be enjoyed in more ways than one, here at Chase we prefer it in our spirits.

Our Marmalade Vodka begins it’s life as ‘The World’s Best Tasting’ Chase Vodka. The smooth and creamy spirit is then marinated with Seville orange fine marmalade in our copper pot still, Ginny. It is then further distilled in the world’s tallest rectification column (standing at 70ft) with the vapours passing through fresh Seville orange peel, creating a beautifully bitter-sweet and 100% natural taste experience.

It’s not only in our Marmalade Vodka that we use Seville orange, we also think it’s fabulous in our Seville Orange Gin. Wanting a crisp, citrusy flavour we decided to use the oranges in their raw form rather than ‘marmalising’ them first. We slowly infuse our Chase Vodka with eight botanicals including; juniper, orange peel, liquorice, elderflower and bitter almond before finally distilling with more of the same sweet Seville orange peel.
